Halloween Lands on a Saturday in Lehi This Year, and That Changes the Whole Week

Halloween is Saturday, Oct. 31, but in Lehi the busiest evening of the holiday comes a day early. On Friday, Oct. 30, the city's Halloween Extravaganza fills the Legacy Center from 5 to 8 p.m. Over the same three hours, the Butterfly Biosphere at Thanksgiving Point holds the last night of its own Friday Halloween series. Both events are called "Creatures of the Night." Halloween itself gets one two-hour community event, an afternoon on Main Street.

That timing comes from the calendar, and it affects every plan from Monday on.

Why the City's Party Moved to Friday

The Lehi Legacy Center doesn't hold its Halloween party on Halloween. Its special events page gives the date as "Friday before Halloween," 5 to 8 p.m. In a year when Halloween falls midweek, that rule spreads things out. This year Halloween is a Saturday, so the city party lands on Oct. 30, the night before.

The city's Halloween Extravaganza page calls this year's party "Creatures of the Night!" It lists games, trick-or-treating, food trucks and a showing of the family movie Home. The Legacy Center page adds trick-or-treating around the track, music, crafts, a spook alley and a glow-in-the-dark necklace.

Here's what to know before you go:

  • Where: Lehi Legacy Center, 123 N. Center St.
  • Cost: $5 per child in advance, $6 per child at the door, adults free
  • Tickets: The city says presale tickets went on sale Oct. 1 at the Legacy Center Registration Office, in the building's northeast corner. The same page also says tickets are available only at the door on the day of the event. Call the city at (385) 201-1000 before you count on a presale ticket.
  • Coloring contest: Entries are due by 7 p.m. the Wednesday before the party, which this year is Wednesday, Oct. 28. Prizes go to five age groups, from 0 to 3 years up to 15 and older. Pages can be downloaded from the city site or picked up at the Legacy Center.

The coloring contest deadline means some families will make a Legacy Center stop midweek, two days before the party.

Two "Creatures of the Night," Same Three Hours

At Thanksgiving Point, Spooktober runs Oct. 1 through 31. Each of its four museums and attractions has its own Halloween night, and every one is included with regular admission and free for members. The Butterfly Biosphere's night runs on Fridays: Oct. 9, 16, 23 and 30. The Legacy Center party moved to Friday this year, so the Biosphere's final Friday falls on the same evening.

Lehi Halloween Extravaganza Creatures of the Night at Butterfly Biosphere
Date and time Fri., Oct. 30, 5–8 p.m. Fri., Oct. 30, 5–8 p.m.
Location Legacy Center, 123 N. Center St. Thanksgiving Point, 3003 North Thanksgiving Way
Cost $5 advance or $6 door per child; adults free Included with admission; free for members
Highlights Spook alley, trick-or-treating around the track, the movie Home Roach races, live tarantula feedings, Courage Cave Challenge
Timed moments Movie showing Costume dance parties at 6:30 and 7:45 p.m.

Thanksgiving Point's Spooktober page describes the Biosphere night as roach races, an arachnid education station and live tarantula feedings, followed by costume dance parties at 6:30 and 7:45 p.m. The two events don't compete on cost. The city party costs a few dollars per child and adults get in free. For Thanksgiving Point members, the Biosphere night is already paid for. Families with very young kids may prefer the Legacy Center's track-and-crafts setup, and kids who are curious about bugs will likely want the tarantulas.

The Weeknights That Lead Up to Friday

Spooktober's other three nights fill the weekdays before Oct. 30. Each one is the last of its weekly run. In 2026 the dates fall like this:

  1. Monday, Oct. 26, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Barnyard Boo at Curiosity Farms, with a train ride, pumpkin painting, pumpkin bowling, a scavenger hunt and dance parties. It's the only weekly Spooktober night held in the morning, which makes it the one for toddlers and preschoolers.
  2. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 5 to 8 p.m.: Pumpkin Glow Nights at the Museum of Natural Curiosity, with pumpkin activities, crafts, stories and challenges. This is also the evening the Legacy Center coloring contest entries are due.
  3. Thursday, Oct. 29, 5 to 8 p.m.: Dinos After Dark at the Mountain America Museum of Ancient Life, with cryptid-themed activities, a glow stick and dance parties.

Spread across the week, these nights take some pressure off Friday. A Thanksgiving Point member household could do Dinos After Dark on Thursday and leave Friday open for the Legacy Center without missing much.

Saturday the 24th Comes First

A week before Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 24 has two events with a very different feel from the costume-party nights.

Thanksgiving Point's Día de los Muertos runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with art, music, food, local performers, crafts and a Catrina and Catrin contest. Listed admission is $16 for adults and $5 for children ages 3 to 12. Children 2 and under get in free, and members get a 10% discount.

That evening, the Hutchings Museum holds Ghost Stories from 6 to 9 p.m., included with regular museum admission. It's the most grown-up event on the week's schedule and the one most rooted in Lehi's history. If you're planning around a teenager who has outgrown spook alleys, it's a good fit.

Cornbelly's All Week, on Its Own Schedule

Cornbelly's Pumpkin Fest is open through Oct. 31, but its schedule for the final week varies by day, and the calendar affects it too.

  • Sat., Oct. 24: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Sun., Oct. 25: Closed
  • Mon., Oct. 26 to Thu., Oct. 29: 4 to 10 p.m.
  • Fri., Oct. 30: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Sat., Oct. 31: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Admission is $27.99 on Fridays and Saturdays and $19.99 Monday through Thursday. Everyone 3 and older needs a paid ticket. In a year with a midweek Halloween, the last day would sell at the weekday price. This year the final two days are both weekend days. Going on Thursday, Oct. 29 saves $8 per person over Friday or Saturday. For a family of four, that's $32. Halloween itself also closes two hours earlier than Friday does.

Halloween Itself: Two Hours on Main Street

With the big evening events finished Friday, Saturday's one community event is short. Cornbelly's stays open until 9 p.m. The city calendar lists Halloween on Lehi Main Street, hosted by the Point of the Mountain Chamber of Commerce, for Oct. 31 from 4 to 6 p.m. It starts at 4 p.m. with a Halloween parade and trunk-or-treat at Allred's Ace Hardware, 50 E. Main St. From there, families walk to participating businesses on both sides of Main Street for treats.

The event description on the listing still uses last year's wording, so check with the Point of the Mountain Chamber before your plans depend on it. As listed, it ends at 6 p.m., leaving all of Saturday evening open.

The whole week at a glance:

Then the Lights Go Up at Ashton Gardens

The holiday schedule takes only 12 days to restart. Luminaria, Thanksgiving Point's holiday light walk through Ashton Gardens, runs Nov. 12, 2026 through Jan. 9, 2027 at 3003 North Thanksgiving Way.
